The multi award-winning Porini Mara Camp is located within the exclusive 18700 acre Ol Kinyei Conservancy, immediately adjacent to Naboisho Conservancy. Porini guests benefit from exclusive use of THE IUCN GREEN LIST DESTINATION-Ol Kinyei for exhilarating game drives plus drives within the beautiful Naboisho Conservancy and the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Together the conservancies form one of the most beautiful areas of the Mara region-this is untouched wilderness, off-the-beaten-track and with few (if any) other tourist vehicles spoiling the view. The open plains, forests, streams and rivers are home to an abundance of wildlife including resident lions, cheetahs and leopards.

Porini Mara Camp has just six guest tents including a 2 bedroom family unit all attractively set out under yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli, a permanent spring within Ol Kinyei. These spacious and comfortable tents each have ensuite facilities (including shower and flush w.c.) With the number of guests within the camp limited to a maximum of 12, Porini Mara ensures a truly exclusive wilderness experience.

Guests receive a special and unique back-to-nature “bush experience” without compromising on quality and comfort. The camp has won awards for its outstanding levels of service and meals are of high quality using the best fresh ingredients. Game drives are in proper 4×4 safari vehicles with expert trackers and friendly qualified guides who are eager for guests to receive the very best possible game-viewing.

Porini Mara Camp is run with an eco-friendly and socially-responsible ethos. The camp is specially designed to have minimum impact on the environment with no permanent structures and using eco-friendly fuel. The conservancy is owned by the local Maasai community and the camp is operated with the objective of creating income for them through employment and the leasing of land.

Activities at Porini Mara Camp

Aside from the tested and true early morning and evening safari game drives (in either an open or closed safari vehicle), this camp also offers guided walking safaris. These bush walks are held out on the open plain and armed guides and rangers will accompany you and point out wildlife and tracks during the walk. The camp also offers cultural visits to local Maasai villages and you can even go on a hot-air balloon safari complete with champagne breakfast (at a surcharge). The Maasai guides that will accompany you on safari activities are very knowledgeable about the land and wildlife. They will do all they can to ensure you spot as many animals as possible, all the while being respectful of all wildlife and environment.
